My Antennas

by Dick, N1RCT

A look at my home brew antennas ... I have designed and built several X-Beam antennas for 20M, 15M, and 10M. My first antenna was a R7 vertical multiband (the ad sold me!) ... and I have tried several wires on 40 and 80M .. All were designed with the help of AO by K6STI and the ARRL antenna publications. All 5 of the contesting antennas are close to 50 ohms ... achieved on the X-Beams by 1/4 wavelength 25 ohm coax matching sections to the 12.5 Ohm design.

2nd Generation X-Beams, 6/96 These are abt 25 ohms, 7 dBd Gain, wire stubs

3rd Generation 10 and 20 M X-Beam 7/97   Geometry for high Gain & F/B & small Turning Radius

Present 20M X-Beam 3/98     The arms are longer & tuning rods are far apart for F/B of 6 dBd (!)

My old 15M X Beam and R7 Vertical   The R7 was my only antenna to survive Icestorm '98 (No Guys!)

My 80M Vertical loop and 40M Vertical      I needed monoband antennas for 40 and 80 ..
